Privacy Policy

The short version

Every calculation you run on LoanCalc happens entirely in your browser. Your loan amounts, rates, income figures, and any other numbers you enter are never sent to any server, never stored in any database, and never shared with any third party. They disappear the moment you close the tab.

We do use a small amount of standard web technology — Google Analytics to count page views and Google AdSense to show ads — but these services do not see your calculator inputs. Details are below.

1. Information we collect

Calculator inputs — not collected. Loan amounts, interest rates, income figures, and all other numbers you type into the calculators run client-side only. They are processed in your browser's JavaScript engine and are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Usage data — collected anonymously. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use LoanCalc. This includes pages visited, time on site, general geographic region (country or state), and device type. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

Ad data — managed by Google. We use Google AdSense to serve advertisements. Google may use cookies to show ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing history. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not ours.

2. Cookies and local storage

LoanCalc uses browser local storage for one purpose only: saving your dark mode preference so the site loads in your chosen theme on your next visit. This stores a single value (lc-theme) and contains no personal information.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies. You can manage or block these through your browser settings or by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use cookies for tracking, retargeting, or any other purpose beyond what is described above.

3. Third-party services

LoanCalc uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:

• Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics. Google Privacy Policy
• Google AdSense — advertising. Google Ads Policy
• Google Fonts / Tailwind CDN — fonts and styling. These may log your IP address as part of serving the assets.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party beyond the services listed above.

4. Affiliate links

Some calculators display affiliate links to financial products and lenders (such as SoFi, LendingTree, Credible, LightStream, and Upstart). These are clearly labelled as "Sponsored." If you click an affiliate link and apply for a product, we may receive a commission from the lender at no cost to you.

Our calculator results are not influenced by affiliate relationships. We do not recommend or rank lenders based on commission rates. The links are provided as a convenience for users ready to take next steps.

5. Children's privacy

LoanCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

6. Data security

Because your calculator inputs never leave your browser, there is no database of personal financial information to secure or breach. The site is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable precautions to protect the site's infrastructure, but no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.

7. Your rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no profile to access, correct, or delete. If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) and have concerns about data processed by Google Analytics or AdSense on our behalf, you may exercise your GDPR rights by contacting Google directly or by using the tools provided at myaccount.google.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of LoanCalc after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
